Reading an article about Old El Paso - supermarket brand since 1984, brought back memories of how it shaped my love for Mexican chili and cuisine. Interestingly, despite their claims of selling Mexican cuisine, they've primarily offered Tex-Mex

Back in the day, most people hadn't heard of pasilla, guajillo, mulato, and other flavourful chilies. This lack of awareness inspired me to create the Mexican Chili Pack, a way to introduce these wonderful flavours to a broader audience.

According to The Grocer, a leading food retail magazine, the younger generation is now embracing authentic flavours with dishes like Al Pastor Tacos, Pibil Tacos, Birria Tacos, Tinga Tostadas, and Al Pastor Quesadillas becoming mainstream. It’s amusing to recall how difficult it was to find these recipes, often needing translation.

While supermarkets still tend to offer medium-grade, mildly flavored options, true food enthusiasts know that specialized shopkeepers are the true champions of full-bodied flavors. Whether it's spices and chilies or cheeses, vegetables, and meats, small businesses offer the quality and variety that mainstream outlets often lack.
