Chipotle is unique in the food world let alone chilli with its unique smoking process of using pecan shells to create a sweet nutty flavour
Jalapenos are used as the chilli base, allowed to mature to full red to provide a citrus sweet flavour
The jalapeno is smoked dried for a few days to create the wonderful chipotle
Chipotle means smoked pepper from the Aztecs making this drying process one of the oldest still in use today
Chipotle adds deep sweet smokey flavour to any food likes it just been cooked over an open flame, add to any dish from baked beans to lasagna let alone a variety of authentic Mexican cuisine

Each chipotle pod weighs approx 7g but will vary
The chipotle can be chopped up and used in any sauce, 5mins of simmering will soften the skin, release its wonderful smokey flavour and blend into the texture

A little warm water and 5-10mins the chipotle can be blended to make a paste and used as you wish
