The last couple of newsletters I have discussed the weather, I am not planning on doing that again, seem to have jinxed it! They do say April showers brings May Flowers, hope so, the local farmers say they are happy with some rain after a dry couple of months

Reading reports on the food scandal going through the supermarkets this week, unfortunately with inflation and supply chain problems the way it is, this type of criminality does occur, through our own supply issues I get samples from different suppliers, the odd one is good, most though are average to terrible and then few I have to question what on earth is in it.

I have also read home cooking is still continuing for many, ensuring what you are eating is good is everything in life, a hard day doing what ever you do is always rewarded by a good meal at night

As you know we will never sacrifice quality, all our spices are what they should be, nothing used to bulk out powders with most being ground in the UK - EU to ensure we know just  the spice in question is being used and as it should be, nothing but the finest is on our shelves for that perfect reward

We hope everyone who has kids is looking forward to two weeks holiday as my staff are and everyone has an enjoyable Easter

I am asked what pot should I grow in, this depends on how long of the season we have left, for most chilli plants ideally ending in a 10 litre, but 5 is good too

While most chilli plants will happily grow and grow to maximise their resources, they will happily grow and produce a harvest in a 9cm starter pot like this naga type chilli plant

The longer the season we have then the large pot size you can use, each time you pot up the plant will take time to produce new roots, the foliage then the flowers with pods, but if the pot size is restricted then they will produce a smaller plant and nice pods in a shorter time

Our season for plug seedlings is coming to an end, will have 9cms going forward after Easter, only a few weeks of stock left

Talking to the Master Roasters at Hasbean during the week they have sorted out another coffee roasting and more space to work in, allowing them to bring in more coffee types from around the world

I was concerned bringing this great coffee into our shop as orders are delayed by a day, all coffee is roasted and ground to order ensuring the freshest coffee possible, its does cause a few logistical problems but then quality always brings problems to over come

I know those that have tried so far have reported back its some of the best coffee they have tried
