Description

Chilli Name: HABANERO RED SAVINA
Chilli Species: Capsicum Chinense
Chilli Origin: United States
Chilli Heat: Superhot

Habanero Red Savina is a well-documented Capsicum chinense variety developed as a hotter selection of the traditional red habanero. It was bred specifically for increased heat while retaining the classic habanero flavour profile.

Pods are lantern-shaped, slightly elongated, and lightly wrinkled. Fruits ripen from green to deep red when fully mature. Pod walls are moderately thin, making them suitable for sauces, fresh use, and processing.

Flavour is fruity and aromatic with strong chinense character, quickly followed by intense, long-lasting heat. Heat levels are well documented, commonly recorded between 350,000 and 577,000 SHU, placing Red Savina firmly in the Superhot category.

Plants are bushy and moderately tall, typically reaching 80–120 cm under good conditions. They require warm temperatures and a long growing season to reach full heat potential and yield consistently, performing best in greenhouses or very sheltered outdoor positions.

Habanero Red Savina was developed in the United States by Frank Garcia, who selectively bred the variety for increased heat. It gained recognition for holding the record as the world’s hottest chilli for several years, marking an important milestone in modern chilli breeding.

Germination temperature 28–30 °C. See our Water and Feed Guides for advise.

Chilli Seeds Qty is 5 per pack unless stated.
