Description

Good & Proper Rooibos Tea is a naturally caffeine-free herbal infusion made from rooibos, a plant native to South Africa. Sometimes known as Red Bush Tea, rooibos produces a rich amber-red infusion with a naturally smooth and gently sweet character.

With no caffeine, it is an excellent choice for drinking throughout the day and into the evening. Enjoy on its own or add milk for a softer, more comforting cup.

Flavour Profile

Smooth and mellow with naturally sweet, gently earthy and slightly nutty notes. Rounded and easy drinking with a soft, clean finish.

Features

  • Naturally caffeine-free

  • Made with South African rooibos

  • Smooth and naturally sweet flavour

  • Also known as Red Bush Tea

  • Suitable for drinking throughout the day

  • Enjoy with or without milk

Brewing Instructions

Use approximately 2–3g of Rooibos Tea per 250ml of water.

Heat fresh water to 95–97°C, pour over the rooibos and allow to infuse for 5–7 minutes before straining.

Rooibos responds particularly well to a longer infusion. Around 5 minutes produces a smooth, lighter cup, while brewing towards 7 minutes develops a deeper amber-red colour and fuller, naturally sweet flavour.

Unlike many traditional teas, rooibos is naturally low in tannins, so a longer infusion can be used to develop more flavour without producing the same degree of bitterness.

Serving Guidance

Enjoy on its own to appreciate the naturally smooth, gently sweet character of the rooibos, or add a splash of milk for a richer, more comforting drink. Honey can also be added if additional sweetness is preferred.

Naturally caffeine-free, Rooibos Tea is ideal throughout the day and makes an excellent alternative to traditional black tea in the evening.

For Iced Rooibos Tea, use approximately 4–5g per 250ml of water and infuse at 95–97°C for 5–7 minutes. Strain, allow to cool and serve over plenty of ice. A slice of fresh lemon or orange works particularly well with its naturally sweet character.

Common Uses

Brew as a naturally caffeine-free alternative to black tea and enjoy hot with or without milk. Rooibos can also be chilled and served over ice for a refreshing caffeine-free iced tea.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, moisture and strong odours. Keep securely sealed to maintain freshness, flavour and aroma.
