Ginger Granules is term used to describe certain coarse spices, where as some can be ground to a certain size, others like Ginger root cannot be due to the fiberous nature, the dried root is ground down into 0.5-1mm particles but can vary in size

Ginger comes from the root of the Zingiber officinale plant, a lovely grass stemmed flowering plant
The Ginger root is cut off and dried, imported into the UK and granulated - sifted for consistent particle size
If this ginger does not remind you have your favourite dish, mine is ginger biscuits, then its not good ginger!
Ginger like many root spices comes from two schools of spice producers, the first is the bad one where they extract all the goodness and sell as ginger extract, ours is 100% pure ginger root just dried and kibbled, when you smell the ginger you will know its pure ginger

Ginger Granules
I am so glad I discovered these ginger granules! I love ginger tea but was sick of looking for plain ginger tea with no additions (like sugar, lemon etc) Then I found Spices on the Web and these granules. All you need is a teapot and a strainer (or a Japanese style teapot), some hot water and these ginger granules and there you have it - perfect ginger tea! (And you can put the used granules into your stir fries) To all ginger tea drinkers - Spices on the Web is the ONLY place that sells these granules so..... Cheers! Thanks, Steve!

A revelation
I've never seen ginger granules anywhere else. They are not as harsh as ground ginger and retain the warm, sweet, lemony flavour of fresh ginger without the faff. A great addition to the spice collection.
