Linseeds are used for their flavour as well the nutritional benefits - containing Omega Oils
Flax/Golden Linseeds is not best when they are ground commercially, the seed breaks down far too quickly loosing all its wonderful flavour and goodness, whole seeds only. If you need to powder version its best to do this yourselves, very easily done in spice grinder or pestle and mortar, keeps good for 1-2 months before the oils break down

Linseed Golden - Flax Seeds - Quick Reference
What is it?: Golden linseed, also known as flax seed, used whole, crushed or ground in baking and everyday food.
Flavour: Mild and nutty with a gentle cereal-like flavour that does not overpower other ingredients.
Common uses: Use in bread, crackers, granola, porridge, cereals, smoothies and seed mixes.
Pairs well with: Pairs well with oats, nuts, honey, yoghurt, fruit, wholemeal flour and other seeds.
How to use: Use whole for texture or grind shortly before use for easier incorporation. Ground seed can also thicken mixtures when hydrated.
Compare with: Golden linseed is generally milder in appearance and flavour than brown linseed, though both perform similarly in recipes.
Substitute: Brown linseed is the closest substitute; chia seed can provide similar thickening but a different texture.
Good to know: Once ground, the natural oils are exposed, so milled linseed should be stored more carefully than whole seed.
