Flavour: A firm, clean saltiness from a remote desert deposit.

Common uses: Use in a grinder, crush in a mortar, or season everyday cooking at the table.

Pairs well with: Meat, vegetables, eggs, potatoes and South American dishes.

Compare with: A desert salt rather than a sea salt, with a story and mineral origin tied to the Salar de Uyuni.

Substitute: A clean coarse rock salt is the closest everyday replacement.

Storage: Keep sealed in a cool, dry place away from steam and moisture. For smoked or delicate finishing salts, close the pack promptly to protect their aroma and crystal texture.
