Asafoetida Powder 50g


Asafoetida powder is a mix of Rice Flour, Pure Asafoetida, Turmeric and Fenugreek powder

Gluten Free with a wonderful blend that still has the high aroma and strong flavour while being easy to use and add to any curry - sauce

Pure Asafoetida has several names, skunk stinky, rotten eggs, what on earth is that...! gag!! All for good reason - it really does stink

Asafoetida comes from the roots of herb called Ferula, unlike other roots spices the dried latex is removed (gum oleoresin), its not the easiest job in the world and I guarantee the people who do this never have to stand in line for anything, when they get to the line it goes quickly

So why use this? When cooked with the aroma goes and the flavour similar to leeks/green veg comes through

Use sparingly and add a little at a time, stir and simmer and taste - can always add but never take away


Due to the wonderful Asafoetida aroma the resin will be supplied in around several plastic bags, sealed in a envelope - we are always watchful of how much plastic we use, I assure you this is needed


Pure Asafoetida will stain your skin - not till you wash it, scrub it, contemplate skin graphs! will you appreciate this fact, only after several weeks to several months will it fade away
