Maseca Blue Corn Flour – 1kg
Traditional blue corn flour made from ground, dried corn and nixtamalized for authenticity and nutrition. Perfect for preparing masa (dough) to craft tortillas, sopes, empanadas, enchiladas, and huaraches. The nixtamalization process—where corn is treated with lime—not only enhances flavour and texture but also improves digestibility and adds a natural source of calcium.
Preparation:
Combine 3 cups of water with the flour and knead for approximately 10 minutes until the texture is smooth and uniform. The masa is ready when it no longer sticks to your hands. Divide into 13 equal portions (about the size of a golf ball), then press into tortillas. Cook on a flat griddle or pan over medium heat until done.
Ingredients : blue maize nixtamalized with calcium oxid (E529), iron, zinc, vitamin B3, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, folic acid.
