As a confirmed foodie, lover of all good flavours and aromas I am sure its no surprise I read articles on all types of food subjects within the trade, both here and abroad

From the weird - Franks RedHot Sauce has come up with "Slice of Sauce" a slice of chilli sauce, perfect for adding to your sandwich (apparently), or Huy Fong Sriracha having a shortage of Red Jalapenos due to droughts in Mexico, all the way to surveys of what people look for in foods

Latest one asks people what they want the most in food - Bold - Strong Flavours, the umami taste buds being activated with strong flavoured food tops the polls

Top of the list of what foods they like the most under bold flavours was pickles, with blue cheese, sardines, brown sauce, olives, even dandelion and burdock and marmite making the top 10

The food industry is a curious one for sure, most people want convenience, will chose something new based on the colourful packaging and yet what we all want in our food is strong bold flavours
