For generations the celebration of May Day is a celebration of Springs first emergence of crops after winter
Did you know, news to me too, Morris Dancing was invented by Mr Morris Coppice of Painswick, near Stroud in Gloucestershire, shortly before the 1st of May 1419. This was according to that roguish English writer and commentator Sir Thomas Malory (c. 1415 –1471)
For centuries the dance has been a wonderment up and down villages through the British Isles, where ever the origins were the tradition has been around for a very long time
Enjoy all this wonderfully sunny week, Steve and the Morris Spice Team
