This is called Byadgi Chilli which comes in two types, Dabbi and KDL
Dabbi is small and plump very popular in the Haveri district of the Karnataka province in the south west of India for its colour and flavour - definitely for its flavour, huge amount, bags of wonderful fruity chilli flavour
Low in heat, used widely in masala spice seasonings
If you are fan of curries this is a must have chilli for many, nowhere else has this chilli, all others are hotter versions under the group name of Kashmiri

Outstanding
This must be one of the best chillies that I have ever had. We got through a large bag in no time at all. Not simply absolutely delicious, but the aroma is out-of-this-world! These chillies have low heat and huge amounts of incredible flavour of their own. That's how I like my chillies!
