Fidalgo Roxa is an ornamental Capsicum annuum variety from Brazil, grown primarily for its striking purple foliage and colourful fruit display. It is widely used as a decorative chilli plant, valued for visual impact rather than culinary heat.
Pods are small, upright, and conical, forming in clusters above the foliage. Fruits typically ripen from deep purple to red when fully mature, creating strong contrast against the dark leaves. Pod walls are thin and suitable for light culinary use if required.
Flavour is neutral with a gentle warmth. Heat is regarded as Mild, offering low pungency that does not dominate dishes. No formally published Scoville Heat Unit figure is available for this variety.
