Chipotle Chilli Powder Quick Reference
- What is it? A powder made from ripe red jalapeños that have been smoke-dried before grinding.
- Flavour Deep sweet smoke with a distinctive sweet, nutty character from smoking over pecan shells.

- How to use Approximately one level teaspoon replaces one average Chipotle pod. Add directly or mix with liquid for a paste.
- Compare with Smokier and sweeter than ordinary red Jalapeño powder; softer in heat than Cayenne.
- Possible substitute Smoked paprika for smoke with less chilli character, or Morita-style chilli for a similar smoked profile.
- Storage Keep sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to protect colour, aroma and flavour.

I left a review for this in 2022, and here I am again!
When my parcel arrived, as always, it smells so heavenly and the scent of this particular powder always leaps out to me. It is so colourful and fragrant and a little goes a long way. If you haven’t tried this combination before and happen to see this review, do try chipotle with pumpkin or sweet potato - roasted, or in soup, if you haven’t before. They are made for each other. (That said I’ll eat it on just about anything.). Wonderful stuff and so glad it continues to be available.

Oh my goodness, this is THE tastiest chilli powder I've ever had!!! I was trying to find a replica for a delicious smokey, slightly sweet, and a little salty chilli powder I'd had recently in Belgium, and I bought this due to its description, and it far exceeds the one in Belgium ;) This is so full of flavour, and tastes beautiful with everything, because that's what I'm putting on/in... Everything! :) It's a little cheeky, but is very manageable. I want to buy a vat of this!!
