Two Methods to Obtain Two different Textures of Chilli Con Carne
As with most con carnes there are a million ways of making it and depedning on our mood we will make it the following ways
Method 1 - Thick Sauce
To get a thick sauce, leave the mixture in an open pot stirring frequently over a very low heat for approx 30mins to 1hour to reduce the water content down to a thick sauce so the rest of the ingredients are being covered
This method will enhance the flavours of the seasoning
Method 2 - Liquid Con Carne
When all mixed and ready to simmer for 30mins - 1hour put a lid on the pot and stir occassionally over a low heat
This will leave the liquid in the dish and produce a stew like meal
This method will create a mellow flavour con carne
To Finish, Garnish with Cheese - either melted in or garnished on top
How to Serve
Which ever method you use, the point here is to demonstrate how to get different textures and flavours from the same dish, so that each version is adapated to your likes and tastes
Serve with Rice, or go all out and have Tacos, garlic bread and chips
Either way enjoy all!
