Description
Around the 13th Century, Melegueta Pepper was being traded in Europe
The merchants would describe Africa as a paradise on earth where paradise plants would grow and provide grains of paradise, it does not matter where you come from in this world, the idea of conjuring up an image of satisfaction combines the generations of spice merchants that have come before me!
Found growing in the West Coast of Africa, the plants are a strain of Ginger with the Grains of Paradise or Melegueta being the seeds
Quite plain in aroma it is surprising when the warm and intense pepper pungency comes through yet subtle with a hint of nuts
Perfect with French classic cuisine and stews, the grains of paradise ironic is great with ginger biscuits and cakes and fruit jams
Use freshly and coarsely ground
