Cumin Ground Powder - Quick Reference
What is it?: ground cumin seed powder.
Flavour: Earthy, warm and savoury, with nutty bitterness and a faint citrus edge.
Common uses: Indian curries, Mexican chilli, Middle Eastern dishes, rice, pulses, rubs and spice blends.
How to use: Add the powder with other ground spices.
Compare with: Ground cumin is convenient and immediate, while whole seeds retain flavour longer and add toasted texture.
Substitute: Ground coriander is milder and more citrusy; caraway is sweeter and more anise-like, so neither is exact.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep sealed to protect the aroma and flavour.
Good to know: Cumin seeds release a noticeably nuttier aroma when dry-toasted or fried briefly in oil.

Beautiful!
You can immediately tell the quality of this cumin by its intense, nutty aroma as soon as you open the seal. It blends seamlessly into meals, and spice rubs without tasting gritty or dusty like some store brands. Adds incredible depth and complex earthy notes to every dish. Highly recommended!

Excellent product.
An excellent product with a very strong aroma, which even the ziplock bag it is packed in doesn’t contain.

Cumin
This product is very pungent by comparison to that sold in supermarkets. Which I believe attests to its quality. Buying in bulk is also much more economical.

Ground Cumin
I bought eleven spices from Spices on the web to make Lamb Keema. It's a dish I love but it always needed a bet more when I used Supermarket Spices. Wow, what a difference, it was absolutely amazing.
