- What is it? A ready-to-use Thai tamarind paste made with tamarind, water, salt, sugar and citric acid.
- Flavour Tangy, fruity and sweet-sour with a prepared, seasoned finish.
- Common uses Pad Thai, dipping sauces, curries, soups, marinades and stir-fry sauces.
- Pairs well with Fish sauce, soy sauce, chilli, garlic, ginger, palm sugar, lime and peanuts.
- How to use Stir directly into the recipe and adjust other salt, sugar and acidity after tasting.
- Compare with Quicker than soaking tamarind pulp and wetter than tamarind powder.
- Possible substitute Use tamarind concentrate or soaked tamarind pulp, adjusting sweetness and salt separately.
- Storage Follow the storage instructions on the pack and refrigerate after opening when directed.
