} French vs British Food - great discussion over a meal

View this email in your browser Many an evening has pleasantly dwindled away debating the merits of French versus British cuisine. If only every disagreement were as delightful as this one has been over the years! Whether we have been soaking up the French sun with friends or hosting indoors here in the UK, discussions about food—while enjoying food—transcend generations and demographics. After all, isn’t sharing a meal the best way to connect? We enjoy what we do, keeping with tradition below are two of our favourite French classics: the rich and hearty Coq au Vin and the always-debated Herby Ratatouille. So, indulge in this week's French Delights! Bon appétit, Steve and the Team This weeks discount code is FrenchSpices25 Good for 1 user per customer, expires 14th October Entrance to the Spice Shop Coq au Vin Recipe  Coq au Vin (Serves 4) Ingredients: Dried thyme: 2 tsp Bay leaves: 2 Peppercorns: 1 tsp Chicken thighs: 8 (about 1kg) Red wine: 750 ml Chicken broth: 500 ml Onion: 1, chopped Garlic cloves: 4, minced Mushrooms: 200g, sliced Bacon lardons: 150g Butter: 2 tbsp Instructions: In a large pot, sauté bacon, then add chicken thighs and brown on all sides. Add chopped onions, garlic, mushrooms, thyme, bay leaves, and peppercorns. Pour in red wine and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 45 minutes until chicken is tender. Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread. Herby Ratatouille Recipe Herby Ratatouille (Serves 4) Ingredients: Herbs de Provence: 1 tbsp Dried oregano: 1 tsp Garlic powder: 1 tsp Aubergine: 1, diced Courgette: 2, sliced Red peppers: 2, chopped Tomatoes: 4, chopped Olive oil: 3 tbsp Salt: 1 tsp Pepper: 1/2 tsp Instructions: Chop all vegetables into even pieces. In a baking dish, layer the vegetables, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with Herbs de Provence, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cover with foil and bake at 180°C for 45 minutes.
