The De Arbol Chilli is Mexico's cayenne chilli, hot and flavoursome dried and flaked down to provide ease of use and texture
The whole de arbol pod is used minus the stem so the flakes includes the seeds to add true heat and flavour of this wonderful chilli as you would get if using the whole pod
The Arbol flakes are cut and sieved to provide uniformed flake size of approx 3mm
Using De Arbol flakes will provide a texture blended into the other ingredients
De Arbol is hotter than the standard cayenne out of India which is around 20,000 SHU, Arbol is rated at 70,000 SHU
Cultivated alongside other Mexican chilli so it compliments any low heat chilli you are using for flavour for a hotter backdrop
De Arbol can be used in any cuisine or dish, great to add heat to Lasagne or other pasta dishes
As a guide 1 whole de arbol chilli pod weighs approx 1g, making 1/4 of a flat teaspoon of arbol flakes the same - 1 whole teaspoon of de arbol chilli flakes will be a hot dish
