When you get they need potting up in a starter pot with good quality compost and 30% Coir mix - very important with peatless compost being an issue for Chilli Plants

Water from the bottom, wet soil on top is too wet - top soil needs to be dry and feed with Chilli Focus and our Nutrient Booster Balls

Grow Tips if bought Before Spring

Keep warm at around 14-19c without drying them out too quickly

Ideal conditions is to have a warm sunny spot or a grow lamp, if using Min 8 of light - 16 hours max

When you get the seedlings they will need potting up in a 7-9 cm Starter Pot

Soil - A mixture of good quality compost and coir - the coir is very important to add for chilli plants, with compost now peat free it needs the coir to control the water while providing pockets of air, peatless will stunt growth

Keep indoors until Spring has arrived and harden the plants before leaving outside fully, ideally in a polytunnel or greenhouse

BY Spring the plants should be potted up to a 5-10 litre pot, you have time to go from 5 litre and then 10 litre in May

Grow Tips Spring - May

When you get the seedlings they will need potting up in a 7-9 cm Starter Pot

Soil - A mixture of good quality compost and coir - the coir is very important to add for chilli plants, with compost now peat free it needs the coir to control the water while providing pockets of air, peatless will stunt growth

If night temps are fair 5-10c then can be inside a polytunnel or greenhouse, if you dont have then leave on a windowsill until the plants are established in the starter pot

Once they need potting up go to a 5 -10 Litre - The later it is in spring the smaller the pot size, this ensures a better harvest by end of summer, with larger tubs later in Spring the plant will spend time growing roots and then the branches and flowers delaying this process will delay the harvest

 Grow Tips May - June

May is the last month we sell plugs, at this stage keep the pot size to start with 7-9cm starter pot and then max 5 litre for a harvest at the end of the year

Last Grow Tip

The climate is very important, compost with coir - water and feed from the bottom, dry top wet bottom and a warm sunny place without it being direct sunlight behind glass which is too strong

Chilli Plants especially superhots depend on Caribbean style climate, this will produce the conditions they have evolved in

The plug plants I received were in excellent condition and bigger than expected, I have potted them and so far are healthy and growing well, I expect I will get a good crop of chillies in the summer
