Description

There seems to be confusion around what this chilli is, some same its Facing heaven from the Sichuan province which is called Chao Tian Jiao.  As with most chilli known by several names, this is bullet chilli or Chaotian.

The Chinese names usually refer to the area where they are grown.  The Bullet chilli is the Chinese equivalent to Birdseye or Pequin.  Hotter than facing heaven at around Madras heat levels of 20-30K SHU.

  • Compared with similar chillies: Hotter and more compact than many Facing Heaven chillies, similar in use to Birdseye.
  • Storage: Keep sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Good to know: Whole dried pods can vary naturally in size and shape. Handle hot and superhot chillies carefully and wash hands and utensils after use.
