Seed Bound

seed-bound-chilli.jpg

When Gemrinating your seeds you suffer from seed bound ?

A seed germinates when the seed coat is softened by warm wet soil

This allows water to hydrate the plant inside and if the root detects nutrients will grow its shoot

If when germinating your germinating media is not warm enough the seed coat will either not soften fully or start to harden back up

When this happens the seed coat stays on the seedling as in the picture above

To prevent this from happening ensure your propagation setup stays at a good 21-24c and is at 100% humidity all the time

This will ensure the seed coat is softened correctly and will stay soft so when the seedling starts to grow it will naturally discard the seed
