Tasmania is an island off Australia, as such they created their own salt a couple of hundred years ago to accompany the wildly grown Mountain Pepper
The plant though proved commercially nonviable even back in the day when transport was slow
In 2013 Tasmania started making its own Sea Salt again near the old ruins of the first Salt Plant who use environmentally friendly methods of extraction
The waters are some of the cleanest on the planet producing a mild with subtle tart bitter flavour
