C. Annuum Tepin 2011

Apparently these little wonders have the same heat level as habanero Family - can’t wait to see

23.05.11. 3 Plants on the go, and the leaves are distorted on one, while the other two have slight signs

They started to struggle under the tubes so brought them out and given them a magnesium feed

30.05.11. This chilli type really is responding well to the soil and blue light - all the leaf problems I had at the start are disappearing (overwatered though) but growing strong and getting a great move on

06.06.11. Probably the top grower this week, these plants have shot up under the HID lights - they seem to be loving it!

13.06.11. Its out of control - the Tepins are bushy and growing every single day - they really do love the environment they are in

20.06.11. After a difficult start with some distorted leaves, these three plants are starting to really grow now

One of the reasons I take photos is to help see the growth every week, but I have noticed the growth on the three plants without the pictures

Good looking plants! And like the C. Galapagoense plants they seem to sprout taller first and then grow foliage underneath

27.06.11. They take a while to get going but when they do they grow a lot of foliage, may need to remove one plant to make some room, again growing tall then bushing out

04.07.11. Removed two of the three plants to make space, and repotted the largest of the three, really is starting to grow and I see the start of the first bud - pin head so far

11.07.11. Its budding - they are so small at the moment I cant see them on the photo, but still great growth and even better form - really is an interesting plant to see grow

18.07.11. Growing strong and wild - with a good amount of buds starting to show - looking forward to the bloom stage.  Plant is standing at 3 feet tall with as many feet across

25.07.11. Producing lots of buds now - doesn’t seem to be growing much more foliage, and hopefully will be full of flowers in the next few weeks

01.08.11. The plant is now starting to open its petals - not quite there yet, will have pics next week of the flower, but the texture of the leaves is very strange compared to other chilli plants - still got great form and hopefully lots of flowers soon

15.08.11. Flowers are starting to open produce pollen and now the petals are wilting as they should for being pollinated so pods will start to show in the week - plant still has a very unusual feel about the structure of the leaves, as if it has evolved to withstand very strong winds or certainly an environment which has been harsh

16.08.11. That didn’t take long - pods are now showing, with an almost white colour hint of green through it - very small as you would expect and looking great

22.08.11. More pods being produced and getting slightly bigger, what is interesting is the colour of the pods - they seem to be slightly sun bleached with a hint of colour on the sunny side

29.08.11. The plant is well formed and stopped growing in the majority - flowers are cropping up and being pollinated - pods are starting to show, but are prone to sun bleaching

03.11.11. Just tried my first Tepin pod - very nice, the pod is small but bursts with juice and berry slightly sweet taste, very nice indeed, with what appears to be very little heat but builds up over 5 mins to a wonderful heat level of around a Scotch Bonnet, lingering for 5 mins with a small dose of the sniffles, from such a small pod it punches above its weight!
