Quick Reference
What is it?: A salt-free chicken tikka seasoning made with garam masala, beetroot, cumin, turmeric, cayenne, smoked paprika, garlic and coriander.
Flavour: Warm, aromatic and gently smoky, with beetroot supporting the familiar tikka colour and cayenne giving a low-to-moderate heat.
Common Uses: Chicken tikka, kebabs, wraps, curries, sandwiches and grilled vegetables.
Pairs Well With: Chicken, yoghurt, lemon, onions, peppers, naan, rice and mint yoghurt.
How to Use: Mix with yoghurt and lemon juice, coat the chicken and marinate for at least 2 hours, ideally overnight.
Compare With: Compared with Chicken Tikka Cool, this version includes cayenne and smoked paprika for a warmer, smokier result.
Substitute: Use Chicken Tikka Cool for less heat, or Garam Masala when you need aromatic spice without the tikka-style colour and garlic.
Storage: Store sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and steam.
Good to Know: Beetroot is used for natural colour and earthy depth rather than artificial red colouring.

This is a great time saver, mixed with chicken or fish then mixed yoghurt and left for a few hours it makes perfect tikka.

Chicken Tikka no salt
Just add yoghurt to this seasoning, mix with chicken and refrigerate overnight. Put on baking paper split into individual pieces and cook at 250 centigrade in a preheated oven for ten minutes. Add to curry if desired just to reheat for one minute only.

Chicken Tikka
We had this on chicken thighs on the BBQ, using it as a paste with some olive oil and I thought it was too harsh like that. I think using it in a marinade with yogurt or into a curry sauce would be better. The taste is proper tikka flavour though - IMHO ;-)

My go to. Fabulous!
Like everything else I buy from Spices on the Web this is fabulous. Truly this is the one seasoning I tend to go through like water through my fingers. I use it with either cream, yoghurt or, when I have neither, mayo. Marinade either with real chicken or fake (veg) chicken it goes down a treat in naans with pomegranates and salad or pittas with slaw or, often, with a masala curry. I swear by this seasoning. It is my go to whether using as a lavish meal or a quick supper. Fabulous!

Fab!
Honestly, it's packed with flavour. I mix it with Greek yoghurt and marinade chicken pieces in it, for hubby and son, Tofu for my vegan daughter and fake chicken for me (vegetarian), the longer I leave it the more it flavours, and serve in pitta's or with rice. It's that easy. I also use cream (which I think is the original way of cooking it?) or mayo if I'm out of both. We haven't bought takeaway tikka since I began buying this particular seasoning. That's how spoilt we are with this fab powder.
