The Classic Dip with Chilli Kick
Prep Time: 10 minutes – Yield Serves 2-4 people (depending on how quick you are)
Ingredients:
- 2 Ripe Avocados
- ½ Tsp Kosher Salt
- 1Tbsp Fresh Lime or Lemon Juice
- 2 Tbsp. of Minced Onion
- 3-4 De Arbol Chilli Hydrated or ½ Tsp Powder – You can use any chilli here, habanero is hotter or mix and match to create a variation of flavours and heat
- 2 Tbsp. Fresh Coriander
- Sprinkle of Freshly ground black pepper
- ½ Ripe Tomato, seeds and pulp removed – chopped
- Serve with Tortilla Crisps
Instructions:
- Cut the Avocados in half and de-stone, scoop out the flesh from the peel and placing a mixing bowl
- Mash the avocado – but only gently, do not over do
- Sprinkle with Salt and Lime/Lemon Juice (citrus preserves the avocado)
- Add the minced onion, coriander, black pepper and your choice of chilli
- Cover the dish and make sure no air can get to it to keep the colour
- When you are ready to serve add the chopped tomato
