Coffee information
This lot comes from the Taypiplaya region near Caranavi, a lush, high-altitude area in Bolivia that’s long been a source of standout coffees. In previous years, our offerings from Taypiplaya have been blended lots - excellent in quality, but often made up of contributions from multiple smallholder producers, which meant we couldn’t always trace the coffee back to individual farms.
This year marks a turning point. Thanks to improved traceability and deeper collaboration with the Sol de la Mañana program, we’re now able to showcase single-producer lots like this one from Felemeno Mamani. Our Green Buyer Roland Glew was particularly excited about this new development for our 2025 Bolivian coffees and said, "It’s a significant step forward - not just for transparency, but for recognising the skill and dedication of individual farmers whose work could otherwise go unnamed".
Felemeno is one of 18 Sol de la Mañana members farming in Taypiplaya, which accounts for nearly a third of the program’s total membership. His lot is a mix of Caturra, Catuai, and Typica, and was processed as a washed coffee at the Agricafe Buena Vista Mill in Caranavi.
Sol de la Mañana is a long-term development program created by Agricafe to support young Bolivian coffee producers. It provides training in agronomy, processing, and farm management, with the goal of improving both coffee quality and economic sustainability. By investing in education and infrastructure, the program helps producers like Felemeno Mamani build thriving farms and produce coffees that meet the highest standards of the specialty market.
