Mulato Chilli Powder


Mulato is Dark and Mysterious with its complex flavours of dried cherry, coffee, tobacco, liquorice and raisin. 

Mulatos are cousins of Ancho and somewhere in the past they had a shared parent, but somewhere in the past a wonderful group of farmers started to cultivate the seed from pods that a deeper flavour and the Mulato was born

If you like deeper flavours and low heat Mulato is ideal, for me I love to use in dark meat sauces, dark fruity sauce with a touch of smokey flavour and slight backdrop of heat

Use in Stews in the Winter and BBQ Sauces in the Summer, all year round supply for all year use

Mulato is low in heat around 5000 SHU

Mulato Chilli Powder is taken from the pods and seeds, the stalks are removed, everything else is a fine powder
