Organic Dark Speckled Lentils are the same type Puy lentil variety but they can only be called Puy if grown in the Le Puy Region of France
A great substitute for Puy Lentil, great for making nut roasts, stews and pie fillings to name but a few
They have a nutty and slightly peppery taste, good in salads because they hold their shape and texture
No pre-soaking needed. Wash and rinse well, add plenty of cold water and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until tender, drain and add to your favourite recipe.
